Sustainability

Greener on day one.
Green on day one thousand.

A Boulton system cuts your site's CO₂ by 30 to 50% the moment it switches on, simply by wasting less fuel. Then the hardware gives you a path all the way down: biomethane, hydrogen blends, verified offsets. No stranded assets. No premium hardware later.

Efficiency first

The greenest unit of energy is the one you don't waste.

Grid generation loses around half its fuel energy before electricity reaches your meter. A Boulton unit puts more than 90% of it to work, because the heat that power stations vent into the sky becomes your hot water, your process heat, your cooling. The mechanics are on how it works.

Efficiency is not the glamorous end of decarbonisation. It is the effective end. No offsets, no accounting tricks: the same fuel does more work, so less of it is burned.

30–50%

CO₂ reduction from day one against grid supply, from efficiency alone.

90%+

Of fuel energy put to work: the source of the carbon saving.

£0

Biomethane conversion cost. Every unit we build ships ready.

The fuel path

Natural gas today. Biomethane whenever you're ready.

Every unit we build runs on biomethane with no modification and no cost. Biomethane is made from what Britain throws away: farm waste, food waste, sewage. Capturing it removes methane from the atmosphere, a gas dozens of times more potent than CO₂.

It costs more than natural gas, which is why we've made switching a decision you can take when it suits you, not a bill we hand you at the start. Hydrogen blending sits on our engineering roadmap, and our engines are specified with that future in mind.

Reporting

Numbers, not estimates

Our monitoring gives you audited generation and emissions data for CSRD, SECR and ESG reporting. Your sustainability team gets figures they can sign.

Offsets

Net zero, now

We arrange verified carbon offsetting as part of your agreement for clients who want to neutralise remaining emissions today.

Hardware

No stranded assets

Biomethane needs no new hardware. Hydrogen blending is on the roadmap. Decarbonisation shouldn't require a second machine. Ours doesn't.

An honest note on gas

Yes, it's gas. Here's why that's still the right call.

Britain's industry runs on electricity made substantially from gas anyway, burned in distant power stations at half the efficiency and sent down lossy wires. Using the same fuel on site, at 90%+ efficiency, with a hardware-free route to biomethane, cuts emissions now instead of promising cuts later.

When your site can electrify completely on clean supply, we'll be the first to say so. Until then, this is the largest carbon reduction available to you that also saves money, and you can see it working on real sites in our deployments.
